Proc new sig

i just saw it browsing some post. very nice work

Ta. Just had a random idea to do it yesterday. Had to get it done then and there or it would have bugged me all week.

One problem is that on the official forums there are two background colours. So I had to make it a bloody GIF to make parts of it transparent. If Internet Explorer would support PNGs properly I could have used that instead.

Now I need to apply the same theme to a bunch of avatars.

Off-topic: Apologies for my, uh, 'subtle flaming' earlier. But you must see where I'm coming from. Not warning me of what you were doing is one thing, but not telling d4sh, well...

I created versions of the five sigs using the darker grey of the official forums, which is used for all but the first post of a thread. Which means my sig looks fine on there unless I start a thread.

Sure. If any fellow Aggregatorians (uh, I might think of a better name for us later) want a sig like this, send along a full-screen screenshot of themselves against a suitable background (leaving enough room to the right so it spans the entire 500 pixels).

I've changed my sig range a little by narrowing the gap between the components, as someone on the official MxO forums suggested.

I've also changed all my scripts so that most browsers will receive a lovely PNG with perfect colours and perfect transparency (works on any background colour), while Internet Explorer gets an ugly GIF with shitty colours and poorer transparency.

The GIFs require a matte colour so the anti-aliasing works (which is why d4sh's sig and Bit's avatar had white around them at the start). With different forums using different background colours, I've had to make different sig ranges using different matte colours. For example, proc_sig_00.png will direct IE to GIFs with a matte colour of #000000 (black, like this forum), while proc_sig_33.png will direct IE to GIFs with matte colour #333333 (dark grey, in between the two shades of grey used on the official forums).
