I'm not a RP fiction writer (don't have the talent for it), or have any desire to be a main char in a storyline. I just like being around other players while they're IC. PvP while IC is cool, just trying to rack up CQ doesn't interest me.

I think this sig' I found says it all... found it in mmorpg.com.. but says it all for me, I just like IC.. the "n00b got pwnd!!11" takes away from mah gaming experience.
(granted this is all area chat, not /fc or /tc grinding missions with faction mates)

Secondly, and no offense just mah personal taste, but overthetop RP doesn't interest me. I was eavesdropping during a couple of factions RP'ing in Club Sphinx (Merv's), and there was just way too much .. Vampire Masquarade for mah tastes... this "I'm a vampire.." stuff was just.. lame. "*bears her fangs and growls*".. uhh .. ok.

I used to play D&D like some, and the RP was used to support the game, add to the game. Not the other way around. Some factions remind me of a group of D&D players I knew some years back, that would just sit around a table for hours and tell stories, and never even rolled the dice.

ok, i know i've rambled on for a bit, basically if you need any supporting cast members, I'm yer guy. If your looking for the star of the show, not yer guy hehe.. gonna have to find someone who is a better writer/storyteller Wink

I'm with you on the over-the-top RP front. I will just about accept that a couple of people have bizarre characters (like not-quite-human Machine experiments), but in general I'd prefer a more down-to-Earth approach, where people play ordinary people released from the Matrix, whose lives became extraordinary once they were awakened.

as opposed to actually letting the game handle the fight for them.

I suppose that would make me an RPvP'er I especially like RP events that involve a fight.

Tax, AGREED! The game allows for "firing of guns", if I was involved in RP and someone "typed" that, I would definitely send a (( /pvp brah )) .. any aggressive behaviour can be played! ( like rollin' the dice ) . I want RP to ehance the game, not sit in a club and write fanfiction. hehe
