Different Events

Well, we've done the standard events to death. So much so that, in a recent thread, people were ho-humming a tourney. We need some new stuff happening, and TGS is just the group to do it. Let's have ideas (only ideas, no actual rules/systems) for some different kinds of events. Then TGS can pick 1/2 and start doing them.

To get the ball rolling:

Poetry in the Park (poetry readings in a park somewhere with prizes for best poem - MxO style/influence poems only).

Karaoke (probably impossible to organise and probably not all that much fun, but I'm sure the technology is there, and it's certainly never been seen before).

Lemming-Diving (everyone takes it in turns to leap, no hyperjump, off the highest building we can find. If lots of HP, /suicide on the way down. Maybe prizes for best dramatic one-liner).

Comedy Night (Everybody takes turns at a 5-minute stand up session. Maybe prizes for best comic).

Let's get those ideas rolling!

Good ideas there. We will have to put them on ice, as the test server should be up and running very soon, so you wont get many players to join. Give it a month or two.

I know. With QA coming, things are going to grind to a screaming halt (unless the devs release a live event) on the normal servers while everyone plays with the QA.

The point of this thread is to get some good (different!!!) ideas for events that we can plan (upon approval of faction) at later date.

Ideas, people! Lots of you and one of me, and I've got 4 already!

Musical ganks?

Everyone runs around a flagged player til someone says stop, then they all attack him, whoever lands the killing blow wins ^^

similar version could be musical interlock :p

Here's another potentially bizarre idea... what about a club crawl. Get SI radio in on it, prizes for quickest to each new club, best "club" behaviour (not being naked/PvPing), bestr dancer, best looker best *ahEM* drinker (not that we in any way indorse the abuse of alcohol in the real world) etc.

Ooh! That could work! There'd be a DJ in the one club and a DJ in the other, and they'd be able to work out who got there the fastest.

I had an idea, Organise a "Hostile day" where everyone goes about their normal business, but permanently flagged, as if the server were hostile.
