Uh, bad news. (For me, not for you.)
My computer arrived at university today... in tatters. The little shits at Parcelforce have buggered up again, but this time worse than ever. There were all sorts of things wrong inside the case: cables out of their sockets, drive bays misaligned... Even the DVD-ROM drive was pushed too far into the case. All things that could not have happened by simply dropping the box. No, someone's been in the box, opened the case and fucked it up. Hell, the tape on the bottom of the box was cut (as opposed to torn, if the tape was weak and had given way).
I've fixed the physical problems now, but the computer refuses to boot, so either the motherboard or the PSU is damaged as well.
So, no computer for me for a good few weeks.  I'll demand compensation, and thankfully my data's all okay: I never trust anyone but myself with my harddrives, and bring them with me to uni personally. I just need to find a way to access them without my computer.
If you don't hear very much from me for a while, you know why.

Sue Parcelforce. If they have deliberately gone into the box then a) it's illegal, b) it's against their policy unless they thought it was a bomb and c) they piss me off!

Well, I used Parcelforce for a while, but things went wrong most of the time. Then I used UPS, and they were fine for a bit, but then they did just as much damage to my stuff as Parcelforce, and kept billing me for weird shit.
So I went back to Parcelforce, and they were fine when I sent my stuff home.
I can't find any other courier companies that accept Web bookings.
