I dont know why, suddenly it has started to "cough". Like, it slows everything down, or locks completely for a few seconds, and then it continues as normal. If any sound/music is being played when this happens, imagine how 1kpbs quality is. <.<
I thought it might be overheating or something, but the temp isnt higher than normal.

The CPU itself is a P4 3.6Ghz. (can try to find more details later if needed)

I dont know what more info I should give, ask and I will try to find it.

All help appreciated. =)

My "jump to conclusions" sense says memory leaks. Gotten any new software recently?

Open the taskmanager and wait until this happens, you should see then if any software causes the problem.
If you are sure it is no software, start checking your hardware. Maybe the harddisk or the memory has a glitch...

In the taskmanager, should I look for cpu usage by different processes?

Aslo, these lockups seem to happen at least once when I load up any program with a longer loading time.

No new software that I can think of right now..

Hmm, eh, I dont know what this is called in the english version, but:
Systemproperties > Hardware > Unithandler

That is, where you can see all the hardware.
There seem to be a problem with my "Creative game port". I dont know what.

I can also see an "unknown unit".
In its properties it says: XTreme-G RADEON X850 Series
But I can also see my gfx's normal icon in its proper category.

When I read your post, my first thought was "Creative".
Do you have a Creative Audio Card? I had exactly the same problem with my Audigy 2 recently. I reinstalled Windows, formatted the drive, reinstalled again, but the only thing that would help, was taking out the card for good. I don't know why exactly this happens, but neither their support nor anyone else could help me out and I know quite a few people who had the same problem now.
If you don't have one, ignore what I just said. Wink

I hadn't either, when it happened to me... Sad
Don't take my word, but in my opinion that's all too deadly to be coincidence. I was even looking through ebay and actually saw people selling their defective Audigys after they've used them for some time. If it's a similar "illness", your system may soon refuse to boot as well...

More things: taskmgr.exe is constantly wandering between 1-4 cpu load, I cant remember it has done that before. (like atm, im at another computer, and its at 0 once the taskmanager is opened up)
I have now also reinstalled the audio drivers with no improvement. Tried unplugging things, like scanner, cam, etc, but no change so far.

That sounds normal. Is there anything else with an unusal CPU figure? (apart form system idle process)

Have you tried removing the card from the device manager? If that still doesn't help, you know that the soundcard itself is the problem (rather than the drivers).

I'm really getting a deja-vu now. Wink
My next step was completely (physically) removing it from the computer, then everything went back to normal.
If you know how to do that without making it worse (trust me, I know what I'm saying Razz ), just try it.
