Tomorrow I'm going into hospital to have my wrist operated on.

Cue the jokes, you sick, sick people.

For those who don't know (and the only ones who do know are those who noticed what looked like a broken wrist in a photo I posted months ago), I've got arthritis - amongst other related problems - and this is most apparent in my right wrist. Basically, it's disfigured and the bones are fusing together, which makes it impossible to move very much.

The operation tomorrow will lock my wrist in place for good, but in a much better position than the one it's in now. This will have the benefits of stopping the pain and giving me my grip back (at the moment it's disfigured downwards, which is bad for grip). They'll also be shortening the bone which runs through my arm, which will allow me to at least rotate my hand again. It's difficult and painful at the moment.

The only reason I'm mentioning this is because I'll be away from a computer for a couple of days, and I won't be able to use my right wrist at all for five weeks. I'll still be in-game, but any sort of combat is out of the question.

Well, I'm back from hospital, but my arm is in total agony. Painkiller's aren't doing a bloody thing, and my hip hurts too: they had to take some bone from there to help the alterations in my arm knit together.

No point in before and after photos yet, 'cos my arm's on a vast (and very heavy) plaster cast.

Just an update.

Pain hasn't really been a problem for days now, and obviously it hasn't been uncomfortable sitting at my computer for hours. The main problem was the sheer weight of the plaster cast, which made it difficult to go anywhere. Work was out of the question, as was the pub.

But they've finally removed that blasted thing (and the stitches) and given me a much lighter plastic splint. I can move my arm at last, so I'm not uncomfortable anymore. The pub awaits!

Ooh, and I've got a lovely scar running down my arm.
